Job Purpose
The Investment Analyst/ Senior Analyst plays an important role in supporting the end-to-end investment process of Rakiza, including deal sourcing, due diligence, financial modeling, investment execution, and portfolio monitoring. The role contributes to value creation across a diverse portfolio of infrastructure investments and supports strategic initiatives aligned with the Fund’s growth and long-term objectives.
Investment Origination and Evaluation
• Conduct fundamental analysis of target companies and infrastructure assets, including a detailed financial performance overview, industry dynamics, competitive positioning, regulatory frameworks, and relevant macroeconomic trends.
• Search and evaluate potential investment opportunities that would fit the Fund’s investment strategy.
• Proactively engage with investment partners, LPs, fund managers, advisors and banks to support deal sourcing and gather market intelligence.
Financial Modelling and Valuation
• Build, maintain, and review financial models for infrastructure investments, including cash-flow forecasts, financing structures, valuation analyses, sensitivity assessments, and scenario testing.
• Test investment returns using logical valuation methodologies and key measures such as IRR, NPV, cash yield, and investment multiples.
• Evaluate key commercial, operational, financial, and macroeconomic assumptions and assess their impact on investment performance.
• Ensure that financial models and investment analyses are up- to date, accurate, and documented.
Due Diligence and Transaction Execution
• Manage assigned due diligence workstreams and support the overall due diligence process, coordinating with commercial, technical, legal, financial, tax, insurance, and ESG advisors.
• Review due diligence findings, identify key investment risks, and recommend useful risk-mitigation measures.
• Coordinate with internal functions, including Legal, Finance, Operations, Compliance, and ESG, to ensure efficient transaction execution and post-investment integration.
Investment Committee and Stakeholder Reporting
• Support in drafting investment memoranda, financial analyses, presentations, and other internal approval documentation in coordination with investment team members.
• Present investment findings, recommendations, and investment theses to the management team and the Investment Committee.
• Respond to questions and provide supporting analysis during Investment Committee discussions.
Portfolio Management and Value Creation
• Monitor financial and operational performance of portfolio companies in comparison with approved investment plans, budgets, different investment cases, and KPIs.
• Analyse portfolio companies’ financial results, cash flows, operational performance, and emerging risks.
• Support periodic portfolio reporting and valuation updates.
• Support the development and monitoring of value-creation plans, including revenue enhancement, cost optimization, capital structure improvements, and operational efficiencies.
Team Contribution
• Actively collaborate with the junior trainees and junior Investment Team members
• Share continuous improvement suggestions of current investment processes, financial models and reporting templates.
• Undertake ad hoc analysis and provide additional support to the Investment Team as required.
Job Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor’s or/and Master’s Degree of Business, Finance, Accounting or any related major.
CFA Certificate is preferable.
2-4 years of experience or 4-6 years of related experience in infrastructure investment, private equity, project finance, investment banking, corporate finance, transaction advisory, or a related field.
Experience in supporting transactions throughout the investment lifecycle, from initial evaluation and due diligence through portfolio management and exit, is an advantage.
Exposure to infrastructure sectors such as energy, utilities, transport, telecommunications, or social infrastructure is preferred.
Technical Skills
• Strong knowledge of investment analysis, portfolio management, corporate finance, valuation, and transaction structuring.
• Outstanding financial-modelling skills, including the ability to build and review detailed cashflow, valuation, financing, sensitivity, and scenario models.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, capital structures, and investment return measures.
• Ability to analyse financial, commercial, operational, and market information and translate it into clear investment recommendations.
