Job Purpose
Defining and executing the long-term vision, goals, and plans of the organization under the authority of the Head of Strategy & Business Intelligence. This includes analyzing internal and external environments, identifying opportunities and threats, and formulating and implementing solutions that create value for stakeholders. Thus, business alignment with the mission, values, and culture of the organization, and the organization's adaptability to changing market conditions and customer needs. Key Responsibilities include strategic planning, commercial & financial analysis, market research, regulatory compliance, process improvement, communication, stakeholder relationship management and corporate risk management.
The position will act in accordance with the organization's mission, vision, values, and strategies, as well as policies, guidelines, and standards, supported by an IT Technology platform, HSE standards, the Omani government and other legal justifications, and best international practices, in consonance with national objectives.
Mandate QHSSE Obligations

Guide, advise, communicate, and enforce safe behavioural practices (Life Saving Rules, Process Safety Rules) to perform tasks safely.

Holding this role, you will be acting as the ambassador associate to your Team members, leading initiatives, promoting behaviours, making decisions that align with our OQGN cultural principles, and ensuring their growth and their valuable contributions towards our organization’s long-term success.
Lead and coordinate the development, review, and monitoring of the Company's corporate strategy, strategic objectives, and long-term business plans, ensuring alignment with corporate priorities and sustainable growth objectives.
Drive and oversee the execution and monitoring of the Company's strategic transformation agenda, including strategic assessments, progress tracking, and the development of transformation roadmaps and initiatives.
Provide strategic decision support to executive management through robust analysis, business intelligence, scenario modelling, market assessments, and evidence-based recommendations.
Lead the preparation and evaluation of business cases, investment proposals, and growth opportunities, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and established evaluation criteria.
Lead and oversee the evaluation of mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, joint ventures, and divestments through commercial analysis, valuation assessments, synergy evaluations, business case development, and due diligence activities.
Lead the identification, evaluation, and development of new business opportunities across adjacencies (e.g., liquid hydrocarbon transportation, gas storage, processing) and emerging energy-transition sectors (e.g., CCUS, hydrogen), through market research, feasibility assessments, and strategic evaluations.
Provide strategic insights and recommendations to support management decision-making on commercial, financial, regulatory, sustainability, digitalization, market development, and portfolio-related matters.
Manage and coordinate strategic planning inputs for the annual corporate business planning cycle to ensure alignment between strategic priorities, business plans, and organizational objectives.
Manage and coordinate the Company's Program Build exercise, ensuring alignment between strategic initiatives, priorities, and planned business outcomes.
Partner with corporate functions and business units to align departmental plans, initiatives, and resource requirements with approved strategic priorities.
Lead the assessment of regulatory developments and price control frameworks (PC4 / RAB) through strategic and commercial analysis, industry research, and preparation of recommendations and supporting documentation.
Lead the preparation of strategic inputs for investor and shareholder reporting activities, including market analysis, strategic insights, presentations, and value-creation narratives.
Drive the development and implementation of sustainability, ESG, decarbonization, and energy-transition initiatives through strategic analysis, benchmarking, and opportunity assessments.
Identify, evaluate, and champion opportunities for commercial improvement, operational enhancement, cost optimization, and business efficiency through strategic reviews and market analysis.
Lead benchmarking studies against local, regional, and international best practices to identify performance gaps, improvement opportunities, and competitive advantages.
Lead the preparation of Board and Committee papers, strategic briefings, presentations, and related materials, ensuring timely coordination, quality, and follow-up.
Lead and coordinate enterprise-wide strategic initiatives and cross-functional programs by aligning stakeholders, monitoring implementation progress, and supporting governance requirements.
Lead the development of strategic partnerships and engagement with government entities, regulators, industry participants, consultants, and other stakeholders to advance strategic objectives.
Conduct portfolio assessments, investment analyses, and capital allocation reviews to support management decision-making and long-term value creation.
Lead strategic risk assessments through scenario analysis, market outlook reviews, forecasting exercises, and sensitivity analysis.
Maintain and continuously enhance strategy management frameworks, planning methodologies, templates, and governance processes.
Lead, coach, and develop team members while promoting a culture of collaboration, analytical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Fulfil job duties and responsibilities in accordance with company policies, governance requirements, and sound health, safety, security, and environmental practices.

Working Conditions
Primarily office-based, occasional travel, and sporadic visits to the operation site.
Education Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent.
Language
Preferable English and Arabic
Experience and Background
8 to 10 years of experience in an energy business environment or infrastructure/utility management
Understanding commercial, economic and finance businesses in the oil and gas sectors
Market understanding and business acumen.
Skills in relevant standards and business processes.
