ROLE OBJECTIVE
The Project Management Specialist is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) and Proof of Concepts (PoCs) that validate new solutions, partnerships, and innovation-hub and startup collaborations before they scale into larger Otech projects and programs. The role owns the early-stage delivery of pilots and validation initiatives originating from Strategic Business pursuits — including those tied to the innovation hub, startups, and strategic investment partnerships — ensuring they are structured, time-boxed, and evaluated against clear success criteria ahead of any scale-up decision.
The incumbent acts as the delivery lead for the earliest phase of large projects and programs, coordinating internal teams, external partners, and startups to move opportunities from concept to validated pilot, and prepares the case for handover to full-scale project or program management once an MVP or PoC is approved to scale.
RESPONSIBILITIES
MVP & PoC Planning and Delivery
• Define scope, success criteria, timelines, and budgets for MVPs and PoCs arising from Strategic Business pursuits and innovation-hub/startup partnerships.
• Plan and manage delivery of MVPs and PoCs end-to-end, ensuring time-boxed execution within agreed scope and resource constraints.
• Identify and manage risks, issues, and dependencies specific to early-stage and pilot delivery, escalating as needed.
Innovation & Startup Pilot Coordination
• Coordinate pilot and PoC engagements with startups and innovation-hub partners, including those affiliated with Otech's strategic investment and innovation partners.
• Work with the Solution Architect and Product Development Manager to translate pilot outcomes into scalable solution and product designs.
• Manage relationships with external partners and startups involved in MVP/PoC and early-stage collaboration initiatives.
Evaluation & Scale-Up Governance
• Define and apply clear go/no-go criteria for transitioning MVPs and PoCs into full-scale projects or programs.
• Track and document pilot learnings, technical validation results, and commercial viability signals.
• Prepare business cases and scale-up recommendations for the Head of Strategic Business Development based on pilot outcomes.
• Ensure structured handover of validated MVPs and PoCs to full project or program management upon scale-up approval.
Governance, Reporting & Stakeholder Coordination
• Coordinate internal stakeholders (business development, Solution Architect, Product Development, delivery teams) throughout pilot execution.
• Maintain lightweight governance documentation, status reports, and risk registers appropriate to early-stage delivery.
• Provide regular status updates on MVP/PoC progress and outcomes to the Head of Strategic Business Development.
Continuous Improvement
• Capture lessons learned from completed MVPs and PoCs to refine pilot methodology and scale-up criteria.
• Contribute to development of MVP/PoC frameworks, templates, and playbooks for the department.
ROLE SPECIFICATIONS
Qualification
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, IT, or equivalent.
Certification
• PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum certification (e.g. CSM, PSM, SAFe) preferred; Lean Startup or Design Thinking training an advantage.
Experience
• 5–8 years of experience in project management or program delivery, with specific experience running MVPs, PoCs, pilots, or early-stage innovation projects, ideally within ICT, telecom, or technology and innovation environments.
• Experience transitioning validated pilots into full-scale projects or programs is an advantage.
Skills
• Strong agile/lean project management skills, with experience structuring time-boxed MVPs and PoCs.
• Ability to define clear success criteria and go/no-go decision frameworks for early-stage initiatives.
• Excellent stakeholder coordination and communication abilities.
• Good understanding of ICT, innovation, and digital transformation environments.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent pilots and priorities under ambiguity.
• Strong organizational and reporting discipline, with comfort operating in fast-moving, less-defined environments.
