ROLE OBJECTIVE
The Solution Architect Specialist is responsible for designing and validating technical and commercial solutions that support Strategic Business pursuits, with particular focus on integrating innovation-hub and startup technologies — including those sourced through Otech's collaboration with the Corporate entities, authorities, and innovation hubs — into client-facing propositions. The role acts as the technical anchor within the business development pursuit team, translating client requirements into feasible, differentiated solution architectures spanning ICT infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud, and digital transformation domains.
The incumbent works closely with the Senior and Junior BD Managers, Product Development, and external partners and startups to ensure proposed solutions are technically sound, commercially viable, and aligned with Otech's strategic direction and innovation agenda.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Solution Design & Architecture
• Design end-to-end technical solutions (ICT infrastructure, cybersecurity, cloud, digital platforms) for strategic client pursuits and RFP responses.
• Translate client business requirements into validated, costed technical architectures and statements of work.
• Ensure solution designs align with Otech's technology standards, vendor partnerships, and delivery capability.
Innovation & Startup Integration
• Identify and evaluate technologies and capabilities from the innovation hub and startup ecosystem for integration into client solutions.
• Conduct technical due diligence on prospective startup partners and innovation-hub solutions considered for co-investment or commercial partnership.
• Build reusable solution blueprints that combine Otech's core offerings with startup and innovation-hub capabilities.
Cross-functional Collaboration
• Partner with BD Managers, Product Development, and Project Management to align solution design with pursuit strategy and delivery feasibility.
• Support pricing and commercial teams with technical inputs for costing and risk assessment.
• Liaise with vendors, technology partners, and delivery teams to validate solution feasibility ahead of client presentation.
Client & Stakeholder Engagement
• Present and defend proposed solutions to client technical and business stakeholders.
• Support bid governance by providing technical risk assessments and solution readiness sign-off.
ROLE SPECIFICATIONS
Qualification
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; relevant postgraduate qualification an advantage.
Certification
• Solution architecture certification relevant to ICT, cloud, or cybersecurity (e.g. TOGAF, AWS/Azure/Google Cloud Architect, CISSP or equivalent) preferred.
Experience
• 6–10 years of experience in solution architecture, presales, or technical consulting roles, ideally within ICT, telecom, or managed services.
• Experience evaluating or integrating startup and innovation technologies into client solutions is an advantage.
Skills
• Strong technical design and system integration skills across ICT infrastructure, cloud, and cybersecurity domains.
• Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
• Strong presentation and stakeholder communication skills.
• Familiarity with innovation and startup ecosystems and emerging technology evaluation.
• Sound commercial and costing acumen.
