Construction Manager - Secondment Opportunity (based on Zanzibar)
Purpose

Lead and manage all on-site construction, renovation, restoration, fit-out, testing, commissioning, and handover activities for the Bait Oman and Grand Palace Zanzibar projects. Ensure delivery in accordance with approved budgets, schedules, designs, conservation requirements, quality standards, contractual obligations, and statutory regulations, while coordinating with all relevant local authorities and stakeholders from pre-tender approvals through project completion and handover.

Responsibilities
Strategic Contribution

Develop weekly programs of construction relevant activities as per the terms of contract.
Attend various technical and quality related meetings to provide relevant inputs for planning and corrective actions.

Leadership & People

Proactively develop, coach and train staff of Hospitality construction.
Set targets and evaluate performance of subordinates.

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

Contribute in the implementation of section policies, procedures and controls covering all areas of Design Management so that all relevant procedural/legislative requirements are fulfilled while delivering a quality, cost-effective service.

Quality, Health, Safety, & Environment

Ensure compliance to all relevant quality, health, safety and environmental management policies, procedures and controls across the section to guarantee employee safety, legislative compliance, delivery of high-quality products/service and a responsible environmental attitude.

Group
OMRAN being a Group/ Holding level government-owned company, it is expected from all its staff members to provide services within the domain of their Job Description to OMRAN, its subsidiary companies, and its other assets, whenever required and requested by their Line Managers in accordance to the company’s needs and as seen appropriate by the senior management of OMRAN.
Operational

Read specifications and drawings, and Bill of Quantities.
Monitor construction programs.
Monitor procedures in relation to the assigned packages.
Oversee the work being carried out by contractors and consultants on regular ba-sis to assess timeliness and quality of work.
Confer with consultants, contractors, and construction professionals to discuss and resolve matters such as work procedures, complaints, and construction issues.
Monitor construction, fit out and related works.
Inspect and monitor construction sites to ensure adherence to safety standards, building codes, and specifications.
Maintain daily logs and supplement inspection records with photographs.
Work with Engineers to certify invoices at various stages of completion of work as per authority levels assigned.
Monitor Productivity of laborers hired by contractors (man hours spent).

Related Assignments

Perform other related duties or assignments as directed by the department head.

Key Performance Indicators

Quality of construction in relation to the package assigned (defects).
Early identification of delays and cost overruns .

As per related OMRAN policies and procedures manuals. Education & Experience
A minimum of bachelor’s degree in civil or architectural engineering or equiva-lent.
A minimum of 8 years’ experience in construction field with at least 4 years in a position of progressively increasing managerial responsibilities.
Experience with high end office buildings is a plus.
